Refreshing

I had a fantastic weekend in Toronto, that ended in a rather tedious drive today, but a journey that provided some good time for reflection. A mini-family reunion, time away to recharge, reflect and think on the new tracks as well as some current efforts, directions and such, a chance to see the Chinese Terracotta Army exhibit at the ROM (amazing but no cameras or phones allowed - and they watched us like hawks so no photos I'm afraid,) and to top it off; the making of an absolutely amazing, and rather stunning bella new friend, Ms. B.

To find and connect with someone such as her is refreshing beyond words. As she is also in the entertainment business, although in a different facet from my own (with a much larger body of experience and work,) to talk with her and discuss passions with someone else that "gets it" and understands what it takes was a highlight for me. To not have to explain but instead to simply share the joys and understanding of the drive, the sacrifices, the struggles, the perseverance and persistence, the emotion, the exhilaration, the energy and a multitude of other efforts and experiences that go into flying face first and full blast towards one's dreams was... well very enlightening and lasting. Thank you Ms. B! I look forward to many talks, walks and further time together as we both reach and stretch skyward.

Finding someone who is walking along a similar path to you, and also has and lives the necessary mindset, is without a doubt something to be strongly embraced. That type of connection only comes because you've put the right positive energies and efforts out there for them to be seen, heard and returned. The sharing of information and knowledge, the offering of assistance honestly, truly and without any personal agendas, and the knowing that you're not alone on such a path can do wonders for the inner spirit. It can be a lonely road this one in the arts. Solo artist is indeed that for much of the time and so in keeping with my belief in and of understanding and holding "the moment," I certainly did not, and will not, let moments such as these ever escape my sight or notice, only to disappear into the peripheral and be gone. Refreshing.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program, and me to my lyric writing.
